SafeAssured ID - A Turnkey Family Safety Program
Focusing the Efforts of Parents, Law Enforcement, Media and the Community
The numbers are concerning - more than 2,000 children are reported missing each day in America. That is why Tomahawk Community Bank proactively responded to the need for a complete child ID system by bringing the SafeAssured program to our community. It is a complex system that provides immediate comprehensive content that focuses the resources of families, law enforcement, media, and the community on the tracking and location of missing children. In January 2015, we donated this system to the Tomahawk Police Department.
The single SafeAssured Mini-CD provides personal identification information essential to location efforts. It protects children in several ways. First, it keeps private information safe in the hands of parents. No information is stored away from the CD. Second, sensitive personal data is electronically protected through encryption. Third, it responds to the need for immediate action upon discovery of a missing child.
In the event a child goes missing, the SafeAssured Child ID Solution provides families with the power to deliver media and law enforcement immediate identifying data that is ready to broadcast. Information captured for dissemination includes the following, all stored on the SafeAssured Mini-CD:
- Streaming video showing movement and gait with both close-up and direct shots that are television ready
- Linked audio file providing the child’s voice inflection and accent
- General personal information
- Digital photograph
Each of these bits of information combines to reveal a child’s life-like qualities no still picture can. Upon need a child’s true character likeness is available for immediate transmission to law enforcement and news organizations around the world without loss of clarity or detail; and with any common personal computer.
Additionally, the mini CD contains a full set of high quality fingerprint images, private information about the individual (street address, date of birth, medical conditions, special medications, identifying scars, marks, and tattoos), and a code word the child may use to covertly alert law enforcement without fear of harm. We understand that not only is this information extremely useful to law enforcement but if in the wrong hands, could be used for identify theft or worse, compromise a child’s physical safety. Therefore, the mini CD secures this highly sensitive and private personal data with electronic encryption. The data can only be decrypted when the parent/guardian presents the mini CD to law enforcement. At that time law enforcement sends the files to SafeAssured for decryption. SafeAssured does not release that data before executing a thorough identity verification process.

“SafeAssured is designed to galvanize and mobilize the community to find a missing child.”
Associate Executive Director for Federation Member Services National School Board Association (NSBA)
“Time is the enemy when it comes to recovering a missing child. A critical element to the first few hours of an investigation is for law enforcement to have a good quality, current photograph of the missing child. By having this vital information easily accessible, parents can help law enforcement respond quickly and aid in the search for the missing child.”

“Making the $10,000 investment in the SafeAssured ID equipment was an easy decision for Tomahawk Community Bank. Given our active involvement in the community, SafeAssured was a perfect “gift” to our community as well as helping us meet our CRA requirements. When we donate $1000.00 to the Tomahawk SafeAssured program, we can see where our money is going; we’re not donating $1000.00... we’re protecting 100 children.”
James S. Dentler
Former President/CEO Tomahawk Community Bank
